The twilight of the masks
Title of Michel Tournier's book that brings us closer to the life and work of some photographers. It is also the title of a film series made while working as an actress in a magical forest. Different fantastic characters became his new everyday self, where the gesture of putting on make-up, dressing and transforming was the first step to delving into the mask of his new reality, making use of photography more beyond the pursuit of beauty, or veracity; in this series it is discovered in multiple identities and moves in a territory dual between the dressing room mirror and nature. The self-portrait here tells us of the presence and absence of an unknown self that is born of a reflection that is transformed to become multiple but immortal.
